Establishing standardized, weather-resistant bulletin boards at public pickleball courts in Richmond and Charlottesville to provide accessible community communication hubs for sharing resources, events, and organizing the local pickleball community.
The Community Bulletin Boards project aims to establish a network of standardized, weather-resistant bulletin boards at all public pickleball courts across Richmond, VA and Charlottesville, VA. These boards will serve as centralized physical communication hubs, enabling the local pickleball community to share resources, post event details, and strengthen community organization. This initiative addresses the fragmented communication across online platforms by providing accessible, inclusive infrastructure that reaches all players regardless of their digital presence. The boards will feature weather-protected display areas, consistent branding, and will be managed through a coordinated system of location coordinators. The project is currently in Phase 0 (planning), with Phase 1 (discovery and inventory) scheduled to begin in Q1 2026. Implementation will require municipal approvals, community fundraising, and phased installation across all target locations.
